Meet Elaine Keller-Duemig, CNM
Elaine is poised to embark on an exciting new chapter with her solo midwifery practice, EKD Midwifery. She is currently establishing her practice in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, with a renewed focus on gynecology and perimenopause care.
As the former owner of the esteemed Central Park Midwifery in New York City, which thrived from 2014 to 2025, Elaine proudly inherited this remarkable practice from its founder, Georgia Rose. With nearly 12 years of commitment, she and the CPM midwives successfully upheld the legacy of excellence in care.
Becoming a midwife was Elaine's ambition for years. She earned her bachelor's degree in Women's Studies and a certificate in LGBT studies from the University of Wisconsin – Madison before pursuing her nursing degree at Quinnipiac University. Her experience as a labor and delivery nurse has equipped her with the skills needed to excel. After graduating from Columbia University with her midwifery degree, Elaine was determined to return to her true calling as a midwife.
During her journey, Elaine studied abroad in Galway, Ireland, before moving to Connecticut to earn her nursing degree. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse at St. Vincent's in Bridgeport, CT, and then moved to New York to attend Columbia University for her midwifery degree while also working as an L&D nurse at St. Vincent's in Greenwich Village. After graduating from midwifery school, Elaine worked at Roosevelt (now Mount Sinai West) as a nurse — and she always wanted to return as a midwife.
Before joining Central Park Midwifery, Elaine worked with a physician in a busy private practice in New Jersey. Elaine favors the continuity and close relationships that develop with clients and their families while working in a private practice setting.
Residing in Brooklyn with her husband and daughter — who was born at the birthing center at Mount Sinai West — and their three cats, Elaine enjoys beach outings, Coney Island adventures, and travel. She is also an avid and devoted Stephen King fan, dedicated to exploring his entire body of work.
A warm, welcoming space in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn designed with your comfort in mind.
