I'm so glad you found me. I'm Elaine Keller-Duemig, a Certified Nurse-Midwife and the founder of EKD Midwifery, PC — my solo private practice in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, focused on holistic gynecology, preconception support, and perimenopause care.

I have been a midwife since 2010, including 12 years leading Central Park Midwifery. EKD Midwifery, PC is the same practice that operated as Central Park Midwifery in Manhattan from 2014 to 2025, now continuing in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. I proudly inherited this remarkable practice from its founder, Georgia Rose, and I am honored to carry that legacy forward.

With nearly two decades of experience as a labor and delivery nurse and full-scope midwife, I have attended thousands of births with individualized and attentive care.

My Journey

Becoming a midwife was my ambition for years. I earned my bachelor's degree in Women's Studies and a certificate in LGBT Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison before pursuing my nursing degree at Quinnipiac University. I studied abroad in Galway, Ireland, then moved to Connecticut to work as a labor and delivery nurse at St. Vincent's in Bridgeport. I moved to New York to attend Columbia University for my midwifery degree while also working as an L&D nurse at St. Vincent's in Greenwich Village. After graduating, I worked at Roosevelt (now Mount Sinai West) as a nurse — and I always wanted to return as a midwife.

Before joining Central Park Midwifery, I worked with a physician in a busy private practice in New Jersey. I favor the continuity and close relationships that develop with clients and their families in a private practice setting.

Outside of Work

I live in Brooklyn with my husband and daughter — who was born at the birthing center at Mount Sinai West — and our three cats. I enjoy beach outings, Coney Island adventures, and travel. I am also an avid and devoted Stephen King fan, dedicated to exploring his entire body of work.
